The Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce 13th annual Culinary Delights was held Wednesday, April 28th at the newly renovated and luxurious Metropolitan in the heart of Glen Cove. This is the opportunity for a number of exceptional local restaurants, eateries, wineries and breweries to showcase their finest menu items to delight hundreds of happy, hungry attendees. “It was an incredible experience to be surrounded by such a huge variety of unlimited gourmet foods, fine wines, specialty beers and exotic desserts! The dilemma is trying to decide whether to start with the dessert, wine or a sampling all the delectable offerings from all the stations!” quips a zealous Dr. Maxine Cappel Mayreis, event chair.
The Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce pioneered this brilliant concept of celebrating the magnificent gourmets in our area. This famous event is presented to you every year in the spring by popular demand from both the restaurants and the general community. The Glen Cove area proudly boasts a wide variety of superb chefs, bakers, custom brewers, fine wine purveyors, fudge and ices specialists. In addition to renowned restaurants, there are outstanding chefs working behind the scenes in the Glen Cove Hospital, The Regency, Atria Assisted Living and Glengariff Health Center. Their culinary displays were absolutely phenomenal!
Wafting through the air with the sensuous aromas were delightful piano tunes played by maestro and piano teacher, Carol Goglia. The evening culminated with over fifty lucky raffle winners beaming ear to ear with their prizes in hand. The Glen Cove Chamber is grateful to the many merchants and professionals who graciously donated exciting raffle prizes. Some of the funds raised from the event go to the Chamber’s Future Business Leaders Scholarship.
