Glen Cove Chamber Monthly Meeting

            The Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce lives by its mission statement that reads, "To enhance the health and profitability of our member businesses."  With that in mind general meetings are held on a monthly basis at different venues in the city to allow members to network and hear information on a specific topic.

             This month's general meeting was held at 8:00am, February 24th at the offices of H & R Block.  The meeting began by the Chamber's Executive Director, Phyllis Gorham, asking attendees to introduce themselves and state what their business they represented.  The Chambers newest member, Tracy McRoberts of  McR Group, Inc., was introduced to the gathering.  Four members of the H & R Block staff then gave an overview on tax savings for small businesses and fielded questions from Chamber members on hand.  A lively discussion ensued on the implications of the newest tax to hit small businesses, the Metropolitan Commuter Tax.
