~ Our Distinguished Honorees ~

NOSH Delivers! was founded in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic when soup kitchens and school programs closed. What began six years ago as volunteers delivering food from car trunks as grown into a robust nonprofit operating from the VFW Center in Glen Cove. Our journey reflects resilience and commitment: from emergency response to a cornerstone of community support.

NOSH is the lifeline for 750 families - more than 1,500 of our neighbors - across five LI communities: Glen Cove, Sea Cliff, Glen Head, Locust Valley, and Bayville.

NOSH has a small staff of three and an amazing, dedicated volunteer base of over 300 that provides the following ways for our clients to access our services as we strive towards a stronger, hunger-free community here on the North Shore.

  • Home Delivery: 285 households receive a total of 350 NOSH bags weekly filled with nutritious groceries.
  • Client-Choice Pantry: more than 1,800 individuals/month come to our pantry which is open four days/week plus every other Saturday/month.
  • Kids Food Independence Program (KFIP) provides breakfast/lunch bags to close the gap for children during school breaks (NYS schools offer food for 180 days, and children need food for the remaining 185 days).

Mark and Candy Udell are the husband-and-wife leaders behind London Jewelers, one of America’s most respected family-owned luxury jewelry retailers. Since marrying in 1973, the pair has worked side by side to transform the company from a single-store operation into a multi-store luxury destination known for exceptional craftsmanship, innovation, and customer service. Mark, a third-generation jeweler and grandson of founder Charles London, joined the business the same year after graduating from the University of Miami. As CEO, he has led the company’s expansion across Long Island and New Jersey, building strong relationships with world-renowned brands and growing London Jewelers into a 16-store enterprise that is still growing, and a benchmark in U.S. luxury retail. The company is celebrating its 100-year anniversary, marking a century of heritage, craftsmanship, and family leadership.

Candy Udell, President of London Jewelers and a graduate of Hofstra University, has been instrumental in shaping the company’s identity through her creative vision and leadership in merchandising, branding, advertising, and store design. She has also spearheaded philanthropic efforts, including founding the Rescue Paw Foundation and creating the Paw Jewelry Collection to support animal welfare. Together, the Udells have achieved significant milestones, including major store expansions and landmark boutique openings, while supporting more than 100 charitable organizations annually. Today, they are mentoring the fourth generation of their family—daughter Randi, son Scott, and nephew Zachary—ensuring that the company’s legacy of integrity, excellence, and family values continues into the future.
